  • Pulls to stand up, and moves around by hanging onto furniture
  • Can stand alone and take several steps by self
  • Meaningfully uses words like “mama” and “dada”
  • Produces long strings of gibberish in social communication
  • Responds to simple commands such as, “come here”
  • Begins to use an open drinking cup
  • Feeds self with fingers
  • Can release objects into a container that has a large opening
  • Use thumb and index finger to pick up small objects

15 months

  • Walks independently and seldom falls
  • Squats to pick up toys
  • Has a vocabulary of 5 to 10 words
  • Imitates new words
  • Understands 50 words
  • Can stack two objects or blocks
  • Helps get self undressed
  • Holds and drinks from a cup
