18th Annual Disability Awareness Awards
The 18th annual event was held October 20 at the Clarion Hotel in Dunkirk. The Resource Center and TRC Foundation host the awards celebration each year to recognize persons with disabilities who have made tremendous strides in their lives, as well as to pay tribute to individuals, businesses and organizations that have done a lot to improve the lives of those with disabling conditions. More than 160 people filled the grand ballroom for the awards dinner. A total of 11 awards were presented to people from across Chautauqua County.  The Disability Awareness Awards Celebration rose to a new level this year as the musical group FLAME rocked the house, drawing rave reviews from everyone there. Following the presentation of the awards, everyone was treated to an energy-filled performance by FLAME.  The 11-member group from Fulton County dazzled the audience with its musicianship, singing and dancing, and it wasn't long before dozens of people were dancing to the beat. |
